This policy explains what personal data Mapinamo (“Mapinamo”, “we”) collects when you use mapinamo.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who is responsible

Mapinamo is operated by Inessa Tregubov, an Israeli licensed business (עוסק מורשה) of Yosef HaGlili 22, Ramat Gan 5241645, Israel. She is the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, contact info@mapinamo.com.

What we collect

When you request beta access. The form on our home page collects your email address, the type of business you plan to open, how many locations you have opened, and your stage in the location selection process. Submissions are delivered to a Google Form and are also stored in our database so we can review them.

When you sign in. We use Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication. We receive and store your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile photo URL. We never receive or store your Google password.

If you connect Telegram. This is optional. If you use it, we store your Telegram chat ID, Telegram username and first name, and the date you connected the account.

What you create in the product. Saved searches (business type, cities, and the metrics you selected), bookmarked locations and their coordinates, notes you write, photos you upload, and AI reports generated for locations you saved. Note text is encrypted at rest using a key derived per user account.

Technical and usage data. Analytics events, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view. See “Analytics and advertising” below.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

To review and grant beta access — to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in managing a limited beta.
To authenticate you and keep your account secure — necessary to perform our contract with you.
To save your searches, bookmarks, and notes — necessary to perform our contract with you.
To contact you about your application or the service — legitimate interest, and your consent where required.
To measure and improve the site, including advertising measurement — your consent, where consent is required in your jurisdiction.

Automated assessment of beta applications

Beta applications are given a preliminary score and summary by an automated system so we can prioritise review. No access decision is made by automation alone — a person reviews every application before it is approved or rejected. You may contact us at info@mapinamo.com to request a human explanation of a decision or to contest it.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on our public pages. These set cookies and similar identifiers and send Google and Meta information about your visit, including the page URL, your IP address, and browser details, which they may use to measure and target advertising. You can opt out using Google’s opt-out add-on, your Meta ad preferences, or your browser’s cookie and tracking controls.

Cookies and local storage

We store a session token and your basic profile in your browser’s local storage so that you stay signed in, and we keep your current search selections in session storage so the map works as you move between pages. These are required for the product to function and are cleared when you log out. Analytics and advertising cookies are set by the providers named above.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it with service providers that process it on our behalf:

Google — Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Google Forms, Google Analytics, and the Gemini API used to generate location descriptions.
Meta Platforms — advertising measurement through the Meta Pixel.
OpenStreetMap Foundation — when you type an address to check a location, that address and your IP address are sent to the Nominatim geocoding service.
MapTiler — map tiles, which receive your IP address and the map area you view.
Telegram — only if you choose to connect a Telegram account.

We may also disclose data where we are required to by law.

Where your data is stored

Our databases and servers are hosted on Google Cloud in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Israel, your data is transferred outside your country. These transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards offered by our providers.

How long we keep it

Beta applications — kept for as long as needed to review your request and administer beta access. Approved beta access itself expires 14 days after it is granted unless we extend it.
Account data, saved searches, bookmarks, and notes — kept while your account is active.
Analytics data — retained according to Google’s and Meta’s own retention settings.

To have your data deleted, email info@mapinamo.com from the address associated with your account, or tell us which address you applied with. We handle deletion requests manually and will confirm once your data has been removed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict how we process it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Under Israel’s Privacy Protection Law you may inspect and request correction of data held about you. To exercise any of these rights, email info@mapinamo.com and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Mapinamo is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Security

We use encrypted connections, encryption at rest, scoped access controls, and per-user encryption of note content. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above. Where the change is material and we have your email address, we will tell you by email.
